Grand Public Briefing

Editorial policy

Grand Public Briefing aims to explain civic institutions and processes clearly, accurately and with appropriate limits. We distinguish general explanation from claims about a particular body or decision, and make uncertainty visible when it matters.

Accuracy and context

We check names, definitions and factual claims against suitable material before publication. Explanations should preserve important qualifications and distinguish a proposal, discussion, record and decision rather than treating them as interchangeable. When a subject depends on a specific place or set of rules, we say so and avoid presenting a general account as universal.

Independence

Editorial choices are made for reader interest and clarity. A commercial relationship does not buy favourable coverage or editorial control. We do not present opinion or promotional claims as established fact, and we aim to make the basis of a statement clear to readers.

Corrections

Readers can report a possible error through the Contact page. We review the point and, when a correction is warranted, amend the relevant wording and explain the change in a clear way. We distinguish meaningful corrections from minor edits that do not alter the substance.

Partner material and illustrations

Sponsored or partner material is labelled so readers can distinguish it from independent editorial work. Partner placements are identified clearly wherever they appear. Some illustrations may be AI-generated; where that applies, the image is labelled, and it is not offered as documentary evidence.
